Paula Harmon and May Ellis will be speaking about researching their historical novels. From the role of Quakers and secret missions in Somerset, the role of women in shoe factories, via what the well-dressed Edwardian might do with her underwear, May and Paula will share some of the fascinating, and occasionally bizarre, facts they’ve uncovered for their books, including several they’ve had to leave out because no one would believe them.
About the author
Paula Harmon has written several books, chiefly historical mysteries. She was born in North London to parents of English, Scottish and Irish descent, who relocated to South Wales via several English country towns when Paula was eight. She graduated from Chichester University before making her home in Gloucestershire, and then Dorset where she has lived since 2005. Deciding that the world of education had enough bad teachers and in spite of being determined to do pretty much anything else, Paula somehow ended up being a career civil servant and has only recently retired. She is a married with two adult children, and generally has several writing projects underway.

Who can she trust? And how come the closer she gets to Fox, the more danger she faces?
